Game Notes:
Rajai Davis (2 runs scored & 2RBI) and Ryan Sweeney (career high 3RBI) were responsible for most of the Oakland Athletics offense, as Blue Jays starter Scott Richmond was chased from the game early in the fourth.
Alex Rios missed a routine flyball in right in the first inning, which in turn gave the Athletics an opportunity to score two runs.
John McDonald got the start at third base for the Jays, following the Scott Rolen to Cincinnati Reds trade, while Kevin Millar hit in Rolen's now former four spot in the batting order.
Cliff Pennington, called up from Triple-A Sacramento started at shortstop for Oakland, taking over the role from the departed Orlando Cabrera, who was traded to the Minnesota Twins earlier in the day.

Newly acquired third baseman Edwin Encarnacion will join the Blue Jays on Saturday, and will most likely get the start at third for tonight's game against Oakland.

Cliff Lee, who the Philadelphia Phillies acquired from the Cleveland Indians earlier this week, made his first start in a Phillies uniform yesterday. Lee was dominant (9IP, 4H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 6K).
