Blue Jays Machine Inaugural Post - Vote for Adam Lind

Finally, the day has arrived!

The Blue Jays Machine blog spot has launched with a very important posting, one of, if not the most important Blue Jays posting of the season.

Yes, this blog’s inaugural post comes at an odd time in the season, with the Major League season almost half complete, but alas the original plan was to have it up and running first thing after the All-Star break, so you’re getting a special treat by having it launch earlier than expected.

An important scenario has arisen in Blue Jays land that has given me an opportunity to turn our very first posting into one of major importance. That opportunity goes by the name of Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter/outfielder Adam Lind and his current possibility of his first All-Star appearance.

The Major League baseball All-Star game is set to take place next Tuesday July 14th 2009 in St.Louis, Missouri at Busch Stadium, the home of the St.Louis Cardinals.

The rosters are complete, except for the final spots on both the American and National League squads.

These final two spots are determined by a fan vote of selected candidates based mainly on performance numbers.

The candidates for the final spots are:

American League candidates:
Ian Kinsler, second baseman, Texas Rangers
Adam Lind, designated hitter/outfielder, Toronto Blue Jays
Chone Figgins, third baseman Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Brandon Inge, third baseman, Detroit Tigers
Carlos Pena, first baseman, Tampa Bay Rays

National League candidates:
Mark Reynolds, third baseman, Arizona Diamondbacks
Matt Kemp, outfielder, Los Angeles Dodgers
Shane Victorino, outfielder, Philadelphia Phillies
Pablo Sandoval, third baseman/first baseman, San Francisco Giants
Cristian Guzman, shortstop, Washington Nationals

We as Toronto Blue Jays fans need to get behind Adam Lind and show our support by voting him into this year’s All-Star game.

Lind richly deserves this spot as he is having a break out season.

Lind’s current numbers are .310AVG, 18HR, 57RBI.
